I am a huge sufferer of every day anxiety. I hate talking about it, so this is the first time I have opened up about my anxiety on my blog. I have never suffered with any type of anxiety until I got to college. The constant stress of school and living on my own has created a monster inside me. Every morning when I wake up my mind immediately starts going and doesn’t stop until I’m finally able to fall asleep that night. The anxiety that I suffer with, often makes it hard to deal with day to day life. I have a few tips and tricks that I use to calm down during the day and at night time, so I wanted to go ahead and share them with you, in hopes that I can create some relief for other people!
1. Eat a good breakfast
I have found that when I start my day with a sugary meal or no meal at all, my anxiety tends to be worse. It’s absolutely crazy, but true. I get the shakes, my mind starts racing, and it literally feels like I’m dying. When I get a good protein filled meal, my body feels good and feels healthy, and I can function better in the morning!
2. Keep a planner/sticky notes
If you’re like me, you’re constantly worried about when you have to do next or what you have coming up in the next few weeks. Sometimes I find myself worried about something that’s going to happen in four months from now, it just comes with the territory. I like to keep an organized planner that way everything is written down in front of me, and it helps give me a little piece of mind.
I find that when my apartment is messy, I’m more likely to panic. Keep your home as organized and decluttered as possible, to create a clean and open atmosphere. If you also suffer from claustrophobia like me, this is a MUST!
4. Drink tea
If you’re not a big tea drinker, but suffer from frequent anxiety, now is the time to start. One cup of chamomile tea right before bed and you’re able to fall asleep fast and stay asleep longer. Any brand will work! Just the aromas soothe me, so you should definitely try it.
5. Taking RESCUE Pastilles
I pop these babies throughout the day and it creates a world of difference. These are natural products that help me stress less, stay calm, and in control. They also have sleep aids if you’d rather take one and sleep better throughout the night.
