Before you berate me about how dumb graduating from 9th grade is, you just have to understand the school we went too, and the community we grew up in. All three of us sisters attended a small private school in our neighborhood. You start in kindergarten, and you attend every year there until ninth grade. What is the point of that, you may ask? Well I still don’t know, but they say it’s to prepare you for high school. It prepared me alright, I was moved from a private school to a public school and I ended up being too far ahead and then totally dumbed down from sophomore to senior year and not nearly prepared enough for college. So public school ruined me, blah blah, long story short, graduating from our little school is a big deal.
Each year one of us graduates from Summit I feel like a little part of our family is finally grown up. I’m now a junior in college, Katharine Jane is so close to graduating high school it hurts, and now you being the last one to leave Summit. It is crazy how fast we’ve all grown up, but I am so proud of you for staying for 9th grade like both of your sisters did!
I’m sure mom is an absolute wreck, not going to be an immediate part of the Summit family anymore, but CONGRATULATIONS ELIZABETH!!! You have finally achieved what you’ve been working so hard for, for 11 years. On to bigger and better things, and in just 3 more years, you’ll be down here in Tuscaloosa, walking in my very footsteps. Roll tide!
