Happy Monday ladies and gentleman, two blog posts in a row? This is insanely organized of me. As you can see, today has been a day to pull my life together. I slept for 97% of yesterday, which started today with a huge to-do list. Luckily on Monday’s I’m done with class by 11 so I have the rest of the day to plan and organize for the week ahead. My desk was cleared, coffee was made, and I’ve channeled my stress into better things like doing the dishes and laundry during my study breaks. I’ve allowed a blog post to be counted as a study break today, because my stress level is through the roof. I got to thinking about things that really calm me down on days like today and I figured I’d share them with you all. If you’re feeling stressed around midterms, here are some things I indulge in to help avoid stress pimples and anxiety attacks.
1. Hot tea or coffee
I started today with a Starbucks brew from the Keurig, and man did it make a difference. I’d probably be sleeping right through this blog post if it weren’t for those two cups.
2. Laying down with the dog for a few minutes
If you don’t have a dog, come borrow mine. Champ is a huge stress reliever. When it’s just us two at my apartment during the day, every time I start to get flustered I throw the ball around with him or lay on the couch with him, just for a few minutes. He just makes me happy.
3. Making a to-do list
I do not know the reasoning behind this, but having everything I need to do on a physical list in front of me helps. Crossing things off when I’m done is the best feeling.
4. Brain food
And by brain food I mean a healthy breakfast or lunch followed by halloween candy. Because how else am I going to stay awake?
5. Face scrub
This is another one I can’t explain to you, but having my face scrubbed and cleansed really clears my head. Try this one too.
6. Opening the windows
Fresh air is key to a happy study spot. You won’t catch me dead in a stuffy library.
My study break is now over, but I figured I would leave you with some Monday wisdom! Why must life be so tedious at times? Is it winter break yet? One more question to leave you with, why can’t our lives be as easy as a dog’s life?
