As most of you can tell and may already know, yesterday (August 6th) I graduated from the University of Alabama! Yes, I was three months late due to a few changes of my major, but hey I finished, so that’s all that matters. As many of you also know, my blog has been neglected in the last few months, and for that I am terribly sorry. I do have a reason, school. Finishing my degree this summer required me to take 18 hours, which for those of you who don’t know, thats as many hours as you can take in one semester so it was a full course load. If I had not taken those full 18 hours, I would still be taking classes this fall and not graduating until December. But I persevered, mainly because I
hate dislike school and I was ready to get the heck out of there.
Fast forward from May and I have finally finished. 18 hours of elective credits to finish my degree and I am now the proud holder of a Bachelors of Science in Human Environmental Science degree with a concentration in fashion retail. This is good for both you and I; for you because I am now available to blog full time, sharing more amazing outfits and products that you might not have known about before. And for me, because well, schools out forever (cue the music).
My wonderful family came all the way to Tuscaloosa, AL from North Carolina to support me and watch me walk across that stage. Another major change you may notice is that I’m not longer a blonde! Yes, the blonde lasted a total of maybe six months and now it’s back to my natural color. I was told I was not a good blonde, and I don’t take criticism lightly.
I hope for whoever got this far in the post and who has stuck with my blog during it’s down time will continue to stick with me now that I will be available full time to bring you guys some amazing content. And for those who have stuck with me on social media, thank you for dealing with my personal posts the past couple of months, because quite honestly that is all I have had time for. So here I sit, as a brunette, an assistant manager of a beautiful boutique, and a graduate. Roll Tide.
That’s what they tell you. They say it will ruin your 20s, corrupt your independence, and suck the fun right out of the best four years of your life. People in relationships just do not have as much fun as those single people. You’re restricted to what you can do, when you can do it, and how you can do it. Staying out until 3am? That’s a thing of the past because you better take into consideration what your boyfriend wants to do! He is going to want you to come home, because there is no way that he would go out and have fun with you. Better yet, just stay home, because people in relationships don’t have friends or fun at all.
Today is a huge day here at Rainboots & Retail, today marks the one year mark since I started this blog! I am in shock at how far I’ve come, from new branding, to many new site appearances. I am so incredibly proud of where I am with my blog, and I’m so glad that a year ago today I had the crazy idea to post my thoughts and outfits online. As you might have noticed for the past couple of days I haven’t had anything to share with you, mainly because I’ve been packing for our cruise this weekend, but also because I’ve been working on this post! Thinking back on how much this site has evolved and how many wonderful people I’ve met literally blows my mind. I have made connections with some awesome fellow bloggers and boutique owners, and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities this blog has brought me.
This month Chewy sent over these Vitality Chicken Breast Strips and boy were they a hit! These were our most loved treats so far, and they come with so many in a pack that they’ve lasted us (two hungry dogs) over a month. Click read more to read my review and see Champ and Odie enjoying these chicken treats!
She’s seen you through your awkward middle school phase and she’s given her opinion almost every single time you didn’t want it. But here I am today at age 21, and as I go through my every day routine I hear her voice in the back of my head; it’s usually a nagging one, but nonetheless, you’re up there mom.
Going a day without talking to her is frightening and there is nothing harder then the months I go without seeing her. Even though we will never live under the same roof again, every time I accidentally bleach half of my laundry or leave the stove on high it’s like she’s standing right over my shoulder, breathing down my neck, with those eyes in the back of her head. Aside from the tough love that a mother always gives, she is the best friend you’ll ever have and here is why:
Today on Rainboots & Retail I’m giving my review of our March treats for my boys! Pups were happy which means this mommy was happy. I was provided this product for free, but all opinions are my own, enjoy!
