On May 16th, 2014, Klein and I got a very special delivery of a very special pup. For almost two weeks we went back and forth between thirty names for this little boy, and we finally settled on Odie. We never knew we could love a dog as much as we both love Champ, but then our hearts were able to open up to one more! He has been such a blessing in both of our lives and I can’t imagine life without big Odie!
Another year has gone by that makes the second year of being with my best friend! There have been times in my life before where I thought I was loved and cared for, but that was nothing compared to the love and compassion I get from Klein. We have had so much fun traveling, learning, and even living together this year and I cannot wait to see what the rest of our future together has to offer!
3. A new home
In March I was lucky enough to move into a new apartment. I had lived with Klein temporarily while I looked for a new apartment, and after so many places told me they didn’t have any open rooms, my current apartment complex offered me a one bedroom that I have completely decorated and made my cozy little abode!
4. Alabama football
SEC champions and headed to the first every college football playoffs? I really go to the best school ever, roll tide!
For the past two weeks I have been at home with my family, and away from Klein and Odie (shocker, I know). My sisters are so grown up and we have really had the best break together. I’ve already got another trip home planned for February, every six months just isn’t enough.
6. New opportunities
I’ve now been blogging for six months and just during that six months I’ve done promotions for multiple companies, and expanded my instagram to over 7,000 followers! I love what I do and the photography that I have taken up because of this blog. This is what I love to do, and I hope I can continue to do it while I finish college and beyond that.
7. Vacation time
Klein and I travelled to Cancun, Mexico for spring break this year and while we did come back with stomach viruses, that week away together was so amazing! We got to explore a country that neither of us had been to before, and being able to legally drink for a week was really nice!
8. Good health
On December 22nd, 2014 I was diagnosed with my first ovarian cyst. I have never dealt with so much pain before. I had an ultrasound and blood work done with came back that I was completely healthy and no other cysts were forming. The cyst has since then ruptured (which I didn’t even feel) and the fluid is slowly being absorbed which eases the pain every day! Thankful to be in good health!
9. Junior year
Im over half way done with college. I just got a little nauseated thinking about that… So yeah I’m really close to graduating, which is terrifying. I don’t really want to think about this one anymore, moving on.
10. My best friend
In the next couple weeks a whole blog post will be made about her, but for now I think a big thankful shout out goes to my best friend Chandler. She has had one hell of a year, but is still as strong as ever and is such a role model to me. She is the perfect example of a strong and loving woman and I could not be more proud to call her my best friend. Also, she has started a blog, so if you’re interested in her story, head there now! See you in February to celebrate your 21st, I love you!
11. Turning 20
Only mentioning it because it’s the last year that I’m not 21. Four months left. Ugh.
12. Fashion Retail
This has been the year that I’ve made my final change to the major that I will graduate from Alabama with. I am now a fashion retailing major with a focus on merchandising. I love every single thing about it and I could not be more excited for an internship that is in my future!
13. Down time
Every once in a while I get a moment to put my slippers on, light some candles, and lay around my apartment with nothing to do. It is so rare, that I had to include it on my list.
14. A new year
Does this count as something that I’m thankful for from this year? I’m incredibly thankful for the year that I have had, but also happy and ready for a new year. This last month has been extremely stressful, and I’m glad for the new opportunities to come in 2015. Maybe Klein and I will actually work out this year and keep our New Year’s resolution. Probably not. Cheers!
